Institutional Context

1849 bajaThe Universidad de Santiago de Chile is the successor institution of the role that the mid-twentieth century assumed the Universidad Técnica del Estado, and heir to an ancient tradition, which began in 1849 with the creation of the Escuela de Artes y Oficios.

Through seven Faculties, and covering eight of the nine areas of knowledge accepted by UNESCO, Universidd de Santiago de Chile teaches sixty-four undergraduate programmes, fifteen PhD programmes, thirty nine masters programs, fifteen medical specialization programmes, and more than two hundred of continuing education programmes.

Founded in 1972, the Faculty of Management and Economics is structured in four academic departments, through which four undergraduate programmes, six masters programmes, a PhD program and over forty continuing education programmes are taught
